Terms of Use

The deal,
in plain words.

These terms are the agreement between you and the person who makes Maestro. They cover what the app does, the one thing you must understand about AI-taught lessons, and the rules that keep it fair — written the way a lesson would put it.

In one breath

The short version

Maestro is a personal tutor that builds courses for you. Its lessons are written by an AI from real, cited sources — they're a great place to learn, but they can be wrong, so check anything that matters and never treat a lesson as professional advice. Use the app honestly, keep your subscription through Apple, and these terms explain the rest.

Accepting these terms

By using Maestro, you agree to this.

This is a binding agreement between you and Matteo Dante, based in Italy, who makes and operates Maestro ("we", "us"). It is the end-user licence agreement (EULA) and terms of use for the Maestro app. When you download or use the app, you accept these terms; if you don't agree with them, please don't use the app.

Maestro is made for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. You need to be old enough to form a binding agreement where you live to use it.

What Maestro is

A tutor that teaches one step at a time.

You tell Maestro what you want to learn and why. It turns that into a mission, plans a short course, and teaches it as focused lessons — with quizzes, a glossary and a record of what you've learned. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for your own learning, as allowed by the App Store rules.

Maestro uses Sign in with Apple to create your account, which lets your courses sync across your devices. You can delete your account at any time from Settings; see our Privacy Policy for what that removes.

The one thing to understand

Lessons are generated by AI.

Maestro's lessons, quizzes, explanations and answers are produced automatically by an AI model. We design the app to ground them in vetted sources and to teach carefully — but AI can still be incomplete, out of date, or simply wrong, and two runs on the same topic may differ.

So treat lessons as a starting point, not a final authority. Verify anything important against a primary source before you rely on it. Maestro is for general learning only. It is not professional advice — not medical, legal, financial, tax, safety, or any other kind — and using it does not create a professional relationship. For decisions that carry real consequences, consult a qualified professional. Never rely on a Maestro lesson in an emergency or for anything where an error could cause harm.

You are responsible for how you use what a lesson teaches.

Sources and third-party content

We cite the open web — we don't own it.

To ground a lesson, Maestro searches the open web and links to the sources it relied on. Some content — including images and reference material — comes from Wikimedia projects and is licensed CC BY-SA; we show its attribution and link back to the original and its licence. Lessons may also link out to videos and other sites.

That linked material belongs to its owners, not to us. When you open a citation, image source or video you leave Maestro and are subject to that site's own terms and privacy policy. We don't control, endorse, or guarantee third-party content, and we're not responsible for it. If you believe a source has been used in a way that infringes your rights, write to us using the contact below and we'll address it.

Your mission, your content

What you type stays yours.

The topics, goals and notes you enter are yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the app: to process what you send so we can generate and deliver your lessons, as described in our Privacy Policy. We don't claim ownership of your input and we don't use it to build a profile of you.

You're responsible for what you submit. Don't enter anything unlawful, infringing, or that you don't have the right to share, and don't use the app to try to produce content that breaks these terms.

Using Maestro fairly

A few honest rules.

Please don't: break the law with the app or use it to harm others; try to bypass the free limit, the security checks, quotas, or payment; reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app or our servers except where the law expressly allows it; scrape, resell, or build a competing service from our output; overload or attack our infrastructure; or use automated means to access the service outside the app. We may suspend or end access if the app is misused in these ways.

Subscriptions and payments

Maestro Plus, handled by Apple.

Maestro includes a number of free lessons. After that, Maestro Plus unlocks more — sold as an auto-renewing subscription. All purchases, renewals, prices and refunds are handled by Apple through your App Store account under Apple's terms; we never see or process your payment details.

A subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. You manage or cancel it anytime in your device's Settings, under your Apple Account subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Refunds are requested from Apple, not from us. We may change the plans, prices or free allowance going forward; changes don't affect a period you've already paid for.

What belongs to us

The app, the name, the craft.

Maestro — the app, its name, its design, its wordmark, and the way it teaches — is ours and is protected by intellectual-property law. These terms don't transfer any of that to you beyond the licence to use the app described above. The cited source material remains its owners'; our rights cover Maestro itself, not the sources it links to.

Disclaimers and liability

Honest limits, fairly set.

Maestro is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we don't warrant that lessons are accurate or complete, or that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we exclude implied warranties. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from your reliance on AI-generated content; and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim.

None of this removes rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived under the law of your country — including, in the EU, your mandatory consumer-protection rights. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, where the law forbids such limits.

App Store terms

Where Apple fits in.

You get Maestro through Apple's App Store, so a few standard terms apply between you, us, and Apple:

  • This agreement is between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
  • Your licence to use Maestro is limited to Apple-branded devices you own or control, as set out in Apple's App Store Terms of Service.
  • We — not Apple — are solely responsible for the app, for any maintenance and support, and for addressing any claim that the app or your use of it infringes another party's intellectual-property rights.
  • If the app fails to conform to any warranty we provide, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
  • Apple and product claims: we, not Apple, are responsible for addressing your claims or any third party's claims relating to the app or your possession and use of it (including product-liability, legal-or-regulatory, and consumer-protection claims).
  • You represent that you are not in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as "terrorist-supporting", and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Changes and ending

We'll keep it current.

We may update these terms as the app changes. When we do, we'll update the date above and, where it matters, note it in the app; continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms. You can stop using Maestro at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we stop offering the app.

Governing law

Italian law, your home rights kept.

These terms are governed by the laws of Italy, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live, which continue to apply. If a part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
